ABOUT US!

Keith & Rachel have lived in Cornwall for over 15 years in a small hamlet bordering on gently tilled fields. Four years ago we realised that we wanted to get closer to all the animals and birds that surround us in the area and in our garden. It started as a small project to make the ideal birdbox to view the sparrows and bluetits that come back to nest up by the house and have up to three families in a single season - and ended up as a way of life!

The aim of birdboxview is to make products that blend in with the environment, have the minimum impact on nature but allow you the maximum access to watch the enchanting lives that are played out all around humankind each year, whether in the countryside like us or equally in town gardens (we are often asked for information about species that we no longer see in rural areas but which are now thriving in our towns and cities.)

Of course a "fly on the wall" view of the lifecycle of birds and other wild creatures is an ideal way to interest children and young people in nature studies as well as to entertain and amuse the more mature members of the family! We hope you will enjoy looking through our website, sharing our photos and videos and maybe buying one of our exclusive birdbox systems. We know you will gain many hours of pleasure from it if you do.

Finally we see our site as a place for sharing information, tips, photos and movies. We want to hear from you about your experiences of nature watching and you can, of course, share your photos and movie clips with us. We will be adding pages to the site to showcase the best of these as well as our own collection! So do contact us (Keith and Rachel) and let us know what and where you are watching!

Meanwhile why not check out the videos on our youtube video page - including clips of a family of bluetits in one of our own webcamera nestboxes captured spring 2011 and some short clips of Rachel demonstrating how to set-up the different nestboxes - just click on the link below:

Some recent customer comments:

"I just want to email to say how delighted I am with my birdbox.  My wife bought it as a birthday present for me last July.  I replaced my old birdbox with the new one last autumn and it has proved very successful already. Only this week I've posted two videos on You Tube! Thank you very much for a wonderful product - it is giving 3 generations a lot of pleasure."

"I received the new lead today. (Saturday). Everything works fine. Thanks for your prompt replys and excellent customer service. Many large corporations could do with taking a leaf out of your book!"

Webcam (as opposed to AV birdboxes using CCTV) are becoming increasingly
popular with naturelovers. The advantages of webcam birdboxes over
conventional AV set-ups include:

  • View it anywhere you wish using laptop or pc.
  • No need for a power source in the garden/battery box fitted to the birdbox as your
computer's usb automatically powers the camera!

  • Superb colour - it can be unreliable with CCTV kits

Very easy to record the activity in the box atext
